How To Make Amazing Raw Salad Dressings

When I first started eating raw foods, I would just eat everything as it was (aka mono meal). That’s cool, but sometimes it’s nice to bless it up! So now I enjoy making incredibly tasty & nutritious salad dressings that would send anyone unaccustomed to raw foods blast off to the 50th dimension!!!

I give credit to awesome raw foodie friends Steve & Kim (check out Steve’s blog at www.rawvegansteven.blogspot.com) for the basic recipe listed below. Without it I may still be eating mono meals. Here it is…

  • Avocado(s)
  • Garlic/onions/chives/leeks or even MACA ~ hey it’s a cruciferous vegetable! :P
  • Tomatoes (fresh or dried)
  • Lemon juice (fresh) or apple cider vinegar (unpasteurized) ~ {this along with olive oil makes a simple yet awesome salad "dressing" in itself!}
  • Green superfood powders of choice – ReVitaPhi, VitaMineral Greens, Sun is Shining
  • Miso/Nama Shoyu/Himalayan sea salt
  • Spices – black pepper, parsley, cilantro, basil, thyme, oregano, tarragon, sage, etc.
  • Nuts/seeds – hemp, pumpkin, sunflower, sesame, cashews, wild jungle peanuts, etc.
  • Brewer’s Yeast/Nutritional Yeast (optional cheesy taste)
  • Mushrooms - Cordyceps, shitake, maitake, crimini, portabella, etc...

*Add all ingredients into blender with spring water/teas (if it’s too thick just add more!) Blend & enjoy over salad! Feel free to modify this recipe as you like and try to add some wild local greens!

Note: If you know me by now, I don’t measure anything; just feeeeel it out! ;)

  1. Hello Wild One!

Do you use a specific type of maca? Just a plain powder? Just curious. I will try this dressing tomorrow. I was looking for something a bit more reckless out of my oil/lemon regimen.
Cheers for spreading the good words.

  2. Namaste!

Yes I use plain maca powder, but red maca vibes particularly well with this recipe!

PS: Maca has a strong taste, which is why it makes you strong, so unless you really the taste as is I wouldn't add TOO much or it can overthrow your salad! ;)

    Hope you enjoy!
